I'd really like it to be canon that at least part of a technopath are some warped operator remains. This would be consistent with how weavers create phantoms, which are humanoid. However, I have yet to find the source of this claim in the lore. The complete Typhon ecology diagram in the official Prey art book only says that a weaver "converts mimics into telepaths and technopaths."
