Leverage is a Neuromod ability in Prey (2017).

Overview[]

Leverage is an ability in the Engineer skill tab that allows Morgan to pick up, carry, and hurl heavy objects in the environment. Each tier of Leverage allows Morgan to pick up heavier objects. The first tier of Leverage also allows Morgan to deal damage by throwing physics objects at enemies. This ability is useful when dealing with weaker Typhon, saving ammo, and gaining access to areas closed off by heavy objects.

Lower levels of Leverage can be used to throw objects to move obstructions, i.e. using a Leverage II object to push a Leverage III object out of the way. Larger Leverage objects can also be used to push NPC's out of the player's way by placing the object at their feet.

The third, final tier of Leverage also allows Morgan to open unpowered doors through force.

Tiers[]

Tier I[]

Neuromods required: 1

Lift heavy objects with ease and throw objects further. Thrown objects will damage enemies.

Tier II[]

Neuromods required: 4

Lift even heavier objects and throw objects even further. Thrown objects will damage enemies.

Tier III[]

Neuromods required: 6

Lift anything that isn't bolted to the floor and throw objects even further. Your brute strength can be applied to force open an unpowered door.

Trivia[]

  • The damage dealt by throwing objects varies based on the weight of the object and the Leverage level needed:
    • Small objects (no Leverage needed) deal 20 damage,
    • Leverage 1 objects, usually larger boxes, containers and such deal 45,
    • Leverage 2 objects, usually crates, carts and such deal 90,
    • Leverage 3 objects, which consist of Cargo pallets, filing cabinets, etc, deal 135 damage on impact.
      • Considering that most Phantoms variants have ~150 health, if you can lure one near you and hit it with a L3 object, you can deal 90% of its health in one blow, conserving large amounts of ammo.
  • Because of how the physics engine works, if a thrown object bounces between an wall and a enemy right next to it, it can hit multiple times, with devastating results (Especially with Leverage 2/3 size items)
    • However, because of how finicky this is, it is not recommended to apply this in most areas. If you do intend to use it, large targets such as Telepaths and Technopaths are your best targets due to moving slowly and having enormous hitboxes.
