"You know what's not funny? Taking credit for my design."
Josh Dalton to Lane Carpenter [src]

Josh Dalton was a researcher who worked aboard Talos I during Prey (2017).

History[]

Background[]

Josh Dalton was a kinetic designer assigned to the Hardware Labs. He worked on the Q-Beam and the Military Operators as part of the Blackbox Project. Dalton accused Lane Carpenter of stealing his design for the Q-Beam and taking all the credit, which Carpenter did not deny. He brought this issue to his superiors and even made a formal complaint to Human Resources through Thomas Tucker, but to no avail. Dalton eventually confronted Carpenter and test-fired the Q-Beam near him. Following this event, Dalton stopped showing up to work at the lab, impeding the project's progress. Gregory Kepner was forced to email Sean Larsen and Thomas Tucker for help, with the latter discovering that Dalton was in the G.U.T.S.

Prey (2017)[]

Morgan Yu finds Dalton's corpse in the G.U.T.S, in the cargo tunnel on the way to the Arboretum. He carries a Blackbox Lab keycard, a weapon upgrade kit, a TranScribe, and Q-Beam cells. A broken Q-Beam is floating near his corpse.
